This is me, trying to find the me within that I know is hiding somewhere below this skin. It's about a journey to find a place where I am comfortable with myself and my body. Hopefully I will find that place some day.

Keep a weather eye on the horizon!

It’s been quiet on my side of the net for a while. This is due to continued sickness and lack of strength, but I’m finally feeling better and I’m heading back on the road. Thankfully I didn’t gain weight during this time (which was 1½ months) but instead I actually lost 0.6kg. It doesn’t feel very hard to get back to things, just the opposite, it’s nice finally being back on track. So keep a weather eye on the horizon!

The Road has been a quiet one

I’ve been MIA for a while now.. closing in on two weeks. This is due to the fact that I’ve gotten sick and the doctors are having a hard time figuring out what’s going on. Going back tomorrow to find out what my blood-tests had to say and then see where we go from there.

Since I’ve been sick I’ve actually lost more weight than expected (1.6 kg in just one week is a lot!) but as a positive it has resulted in what I had planned - 6 weeks = 6 kilos lost! I’m half-way to my first goal and I’m actually beginning to notice changes. Things I hadn’t noticed before but I did today. When I walk, my knees no longer touch, my hips have shrunk even though I haven’t noticed, so has my chest. Those last two points was noticed today when I tried on a jacket I haven’t been able to wear for a few years. It suddenly just sipped up without having to be forced over the chest area and it didn’t stretch except over my hips, where it was supposed to stretch.I also put on another jacket I got last year that didn’t fit completely right, it wanted to get stuck on my hips so I usually tried to keep it open when worn (if that’s not a tell-tale sign of too-small clothes.. *sigh*). Today it slides over my hips and looks great when buttoned. It doesn’t form a shelf over my butt because it wants to ride up, it just fits. :)

So ignoring my bad health at the moment, I’m actually very happy. This week is the last time I see the numbers 90+ on my scale. Next week it will start with an 8 :D

Definitely in my plans. I’m currently walking at a very fast pace to really start getting my body ready for jogging and later on running. There seems to be such a freedom in that action that I really want in on it! :)

Without the inspiring and motivating blogs here on tumblr I don’t think I would have managed to even start. I remember spending weeks before starting, reading, looking and drinking in all the info, pictures, before/after pics, recipes, exercises and so on. It really did push me over the edge - the kind of push I really needed - and look at me now. I’m down 10lbs (4,6kg) and it just keeps going down. That feels amazing. So THANK YOU all my lovely inspirations - without you guys I wouldn’t have come this far :D

I find this entire picture so beautiful. From the soft colors and shadows to the curves of her legs. It’s just such a beautiful picture of body. Not to mention, very inspiring.

This is what walking is doing to me. I’m getting so used to it that when I’m away during the weekends I get all antsy and want my 3 km! :)

MONDAY!
Yepp, those who follow me knows by now that this is the day I get on my scale and see what kind of progress I’ve made. This week definitely made up for last week :)
Today’s statsLost: -1 kg (~2,2lbs) Total loss: -3.8kg (~8.4lbs)
Yepp, that made me bouncy. The start of my Monday mornings have begun to really be brightened by that moment I get on the scale and see how much progress I’ve made since the week before. I’ve now been at this for four weeks, almost, and it feels so satisfying that I haven’t lost my pace or lost grip on my goal. They say it takes 21 days to get into a new habit, clearly I’m there and it feels like it hasn’t been that hard :D I enjoy walking at a fast pace in the evening when I’m heading home from work. The veggies and fruits are just icing on the cake. I have a salad with almost every meal and I no longer get that hungry feeling 5 minutes after I’ve eaten.
This weekend I had a few pieces of candy but I didn’t feel the need to eat 10 or 100 pieces. I had a total of four, I think, and it felt perfectly fine and I wasn’t yearning for more. That is definitely a good feeling :D

I turned 29 in December. I got on this road for real two months later.
My mom is 59 and she’s trying to find her way onto this road too.
It’s not over until it’s over!

I am looking forward to this day, or season. If all things continues the way it’s going I will most likely have lost at the very least 20 kilos by then. This makes me smile and kind of want to bounce around because that day isn’t that far off when you look at the timeline. We’re talking about 6-8 months and considering how my first month has flown by I have no problem seeing that this day will be here sooner than anyone wants to believe.
I’m hopefully going to the states in September for my brothers wedding reception, and I’m looking forward to visiting Los Angeles and all the amazing shopping that town has to offer with the body I always wanted and a body I feel proud of and don’t feel the need to hide. I keep coming back to those jeans but I can’t wait for the minor roadtrip we’re taking then where I’m planning on just wearing a pair of jeans, brown belt and a top and not feel the need to pull down my shirt constantly because it rides up on top of my butt.
I don’t need to imagine. I can already see it every time I close my eyes and let me tell you, that is one beautiful vision to have :)
